6 week handbuilding and sculpture course

This beginner-to-intermediate friendly course is designed to help you explore the fundamentals of hand-building ceramics while encouraging your personal expression. Across six weeks, Lauren will introduce a variety of techniques, such as coiling, slab building, and sculptural construction, while guiding you through the practical and creative possibilities of clay.

Each session balances structured instruction with space for experimentation, so whether you’re brand new to clay or looking to expand your skills, you’ll find room to grow at your own pace. Students are encouraged to bring their own ideas to the table, developing works that reflect personal interests while building confidence in form, structure, and finish.

The final week is dedicated to glazing, with all works fired and ready for collection after the course. Classes are kept small to ensure one-on-one guidance, creating an inclusive, supportive studio environment where students of diverse abilities can learn, share, and connect.
