Lauren Jane Salt is a multidisciplinary artist based in Boorloo (Perth), Western Australia. Her practice approaches material as a site of inquiry, shaped by inherited narratives, tactile processes, and mythic resonance. Working primarily with clay and organic matter, she creates sculptural forms that carry the imprint of gesture and story, drawing on her English–Bidayuh heritage and a background in floristry.
In 2025, she presented her debut solo exhibition Crossing Portals at Lightworks Gallery, following participation in the Indian Ocean Craft Triennial (IOTA24) with VOLIM.
Lauren currently teaches ceramic sculpture and hand-building at Farmer Street Studio in North Perth, working with a broad range of students, including individuals with disabilities. Her teaching centres on creating inclusive, collaborative spaces where the act of making becomes a shared point of connection and exchange.
