Lauren Jane Salt is a Boorloo-based artist working predominantly in ceramic, approaching clay as both material and artefact.  Her practice draws upon mythology, anthropology and cultural memory, examining the ways belief, morality and inherited narratives shape our understanding of the world. Her recent work considers the relationship between revelation and authority, and the ways religious and mythological narratives construct ideas of virtue, transgression, judgement and consequence.

Alongside her independent practice, Salt runs LS. Ceramic Studio in North Perth, where she teaches hand-building and sculpture, including accessible ceramic classes for artists of varied abilities through the ndis. Her forthcoming second solo exhibition, Dominion Moralis, will be presented at Current Gallery in November 2026, continuing her investigation into scripture, moral authority, and the inheritance and reinterpretation of belief.
